| spacerspacer | FAREWELL TO THE REV FRANK MICHAEL Mr George Hall (Society Steward) voices our appreciaion ("Llanishen Newsletter " July/August 1968) Very soon the Rev FV
Michael will preach to us his farewell sermon. During his ministry at
Melbourne Road he must have delivered close on 150 sermons in his
crisp, forceful, inimitable style. Over seven years his instructive
presentation of the Word has produced much original and memorable
preaching. He has admirably fulfilled our pulpit expectations and our
indebtedness to him is great.
spHis zest for witness and an active group involvement were equally exercised when he led our Tuesday Fellowship meeting. Always abreast of current affairs, authorative on social issues of moment and ready to equate the voice of Holy Scripture to life as it meets him. Mr Michael is no sham. A wide variety of audiences constantly made demands upon him to address them such is his skill and technique on the platform. His exuberance and wit endears him to all and none can fail to be impressed by his undoubted sincerity closely underlying his ready humour. Equally at home with all age groups he nevertheless champions the primary cause of youth; and his wide ranging interests have served to enlarge our horizons. Our councils will be the poorer for his departure and those Trustees and Leaders who have had the privilege of his guidance will join in this expression of appreciation of his leadership and pastorasl oversight. Bootle is to gain an able and loyal advocate for Christ; a man of mission and of stature not measurable in inches who walks constantly and clearly in the confidence of his Masker. Mr Michael, may you and your family progress healthfully and favourably in the years ahead. We give you our warmest greetings and good wishes coupled with our thanks for your splendid Ministry. |
