| A former member of the Sunday School, David Dwight, came back to our "Bring a Friend to Church on Tuesday" session on February 13th 2007 to share his experiences in music and its broadcasting by the BBC in Cardiff and London. From his time as an assistant producer "stage managing" concerts by the National Orchestra of Wales he gave us a new insight into the problems that can occur behing the scenes and some "tricks of the trade" to improve the final product. From an early experience as a Producer, of a programme for BBC Wales about Mozart in Prague, David made contacts which resulted in being given his first commission to make an 20 minute Radio 3 programme which was broadcast last June in the interval of a Proms concert. The subject? The influence of railways in the compositions of Dvorak, illustrated by "Humoresque". The Prague to Dresden railway was built through his home village when he was about 7 years old in 1848. |
