BISHOP ORGAN
space
History - Built in 1982 by Bishop and Son, Ipswich, for Brookside Methodist Church, Peterborough with many pipes from Addiscombe Methodist Church, Surrey. Dismantled, brought to Llanishen and stored in October 1997. Rebuilt in July - August 1998 by Roger Taylor, Bristol. Originally the Great organ was based on a 4' Principal and 8' Stopped Diapason, but the Stopped Diapason was later replaced by an 8' Geigen Diapason. In its new position the Great organ was too harsh and powerful. The present, unusual specification provides more variety of tone and suits the building.
