NCH Cymru Annual Public Meeting This event (which should have been held in April) will take place in Swansera on Saturday October 4th 2008. The day provides a great opportunity for us to meet many of you face top face where we have not yet had the opportunity and for you to meet your local NCH Fundraising team, Head Office staff, hear the latest from NCH and put forward your comments. |
NATIONAL CHILDREN'S HOME 2008
The work of NCH is supported in various ways at Llanishen Methodist Church (see 2007 report). On January 26th 2008 several people from our church were amongst the 40, or so, who walked around Roath Park Lake to raise money for NCH. A total of £140 was contributed from Llanishen. Some people have collecting boxes at home which are opened annualy; other prefer to make a donation to add to the box collection. In 2007 we raised £278.70 in this way. Boxes are organised by Jean Dickson (Tel : 20616552) who is the representative for Llanishen Methodist Church. If anyone wants any further information please contact Jean. Jean Dickson's house to house collection raised £52.50 NCH Sunday (13-7-08) envelopes raised £62.50 NCH Sunday is July 13th 2008
In July we, as all Methodist churches, celebrate
NCH with a service
dedicated to the charity. This always falls on the second Sunday
in July, the anniversary of the opening of the first Children's Home
by the Rev Thomas Bowman Stephenson and a group of Methodist friends. This year we were pleased to welcome home Rebecca Crosby to speak about the work of NCH (PHOTOGRAPHS). During the last eighteen months NCH has been looking very
seriously at revisiting its mission and core values. The agreed
platform for our future work and message to supporters is :
"Always there for children"
and so all Methodists are invitied to explore this theme in worship.
ALWAYS
- speaks of our stability, our heritage and history of commitment to
children and young people, and our ongoing commitment to not give up.THERE - our involvement where children and young people are expressed through the wide variety of our work. FOR CHILDREN - children and young people are at the centre of what we do. Will Morrey (NCH Faith Communities Advisor)

| "You can help us at NCH with a Legacy" | ||||
| Legacies are one of the major sources of voluntary income for NCH, raising around £6 million every year. Most of the people who leave us money are Methodists and members of our Community Fundraising networks. This is a testament to the generosity and commitment of our supporters, and gives us the security of knowing that our work will continue into the future. | We need your help to grow
thjis income. We are looking for Legacy Volunteer Speakers. If you are
willing to talk about the value of legacies to groups of people in your
community - perhaps to groups like the Rotary and the WI, or in your
local Church, pleae get in touch with your local fundraiser (Nina Ping
01443-227428 nina.ping@nch.org.uk) or contact Matthew Lagden on 020-7288-7895 or matthew.lagden@nch.org.uk |
